I have a new favorite snack. Actually, I have been eating this for awhile. :)
Banana Cream Pie. This is so, so good! Have you tried it? I have always loved banana anything. I buy the 100 calorie yogurt.
Switching subjects: I want to praise God for cooler temperatures. It has been so nice in the morning and the heat doesn't take your breath away.
I also praise God for our church. He is doing a work in our church and it is hard to explain or put into words but last night during our Wednesday night Bible study we had a great and honest and peaceful conversation about our worship hour on Sundays. No one got mad at another person's opinion....we were able to share our thoughts and it was so good. I am noticing a change in the morning worship hour. Gradual and right changes all to bring the focus on God.
I am noticing the leaves are beginning to change. That makes me smile. Fall is my favorite season.
Of course, football time is quickly approaching and I have already bought 2 new shirts and I am just beginning. lol
Those are my thoughts on this Thursday morning. :-)
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Countryside

Cedar Pond Farms
Tonight we had our small groups from church. This is the place our small group went to and it was so much fun and check out the scenery. Beautiful huh?!? This belongs to a sweet family at our church and he is also a deacon at our church. He rents this out for weddings, etc...... it was so nice and peaceful out there and I wish that I had taken my camera but I took these off of his website to share with you.
I hope y'all have had a great weekend.

Sharing a Recipe
I wanted to share a recipe that I had posted on my former blog. This is such an easy meal to make and you put it in the crock pot and forget about for 10 to 12 hours.
The recipe is: Crock Pot French Dip Roast
3 lb Beef Bottom Round or Rump Roast (I bought a Rump Roast)
1 onion, sliced
1 packet of Au Jus Gravy Mix (I used two packets, I don't think one is enough)
1 cup white wine or water (or beef broth) (I used 2 cups of water )
1/8 tsp garlic pepper (I didn't know there was such a thing but I found it at Kroger and it smells so good, I bought Lawry's Garlic Pepper and I doubled this)
Place onion slices in bottom of crock pot, place roast, trimmed of excess fat, on top of onions. Mix together remaining ingredients, and pour over roast. Cook on low 10-12 hours. Serve sliced thinly with onions on hard rolls with melted mozzarella cheese. Serve au jus on the side for dipping.
I bought Kaiser rolls but any hard roll will do.
Your home will smell so good! I know you are thinking 12 hours and I thought the same thing but it is so much better....check it at 10 hours and it may be okay, I am not sure if slow cookers vary but at least 10 hours is the best!
I make this recipe a lot on football Saturdays. I will be sharing this on my Facebook page, Saturday Menu. If you Facebook check it out. I created a page to share recipes or appetizers for game day. Football and good food is a great combination.
Happy Weekend!

It's That Time...

It's that time of year to start buying my favorite lotion and spray for Fall. Bath and Body Works discontinued this at one time but I a so happy they brought it back a few years ago.
I have to confess that I have already bought a pumpkin candle. I bought it at Kohls for 5.00. It smells so good and I haven't burned it yet. It is Harvest Pumpkin, Aroma Mix. If you like pumpkin candles you will enjoy this candle. Bath and Body is having a sale on their candles for $5.00.
What is your favorite lotion?
I hope you are having a wonderful week. I babysat the beginning of the week and then cleaned house and today I am in the throes of laundry. I must confess that I don't mind washing and drying the laundry but folding and putting away is my downfall. :)
Tomorrow I am going to re-post a recipe from my previous blog that is so delicious and smells so good while cooking. My son requested that I make it on Friday.
Until then, enjoy your Thursday!

Doing the Ordinary
I haven't written since the beginning of August and I am shocked that it is the middle of the month and it is flying right on by. I told my family on August 7th that I was declaring it Pattypalooza month until Sept. 7th when I turn the big 46! :)
Nothing out of the ordinary is going on. I am babysitting my great nephew and today we sat in his bedroom floor and built many tall things out of Legos. When he first sees me in the morning and right out of bed, he says, "Come On".......and waves his little arm and that means it is time to play toys. He is the sweetest little boy! Tomorrow we will do it again and probably watch a few Blues Clues episodes.
It has been so hot that it is draining my energy but I keep on keeping on and naps are a good thing. We aren't going outside much and I don't care if my potted flowers are dying right now. I am ready for Fall. I am ready for 70 degree days, football and homemade chili, soups, pumpkin muffins, colorful leaves and did I say 70 degree days?!? I don't want to rush time but I guess I am ready for the 2010 Heat Wave to be over. O a good note about the heat wave, it has made our fruits and veggies ripen faster and made the fruit sweeter. We can always find some good if we look. ;)
It is in the ordinary days where God speaks to my heart to enjoy this season. Sweeping the floor, I can't wait to have a new home with carpet. The wood floors are pretty but I strongly dislike sweeping. However, today God reminded me to be thankful I have a floor to sweep, a roof over my head, a washer and dryer for our clothes and the chance to run to the grocery store to buy food for dinner tonight. It is so good for us to keep a great and thankful attitude about these things. The simple things in life mean so much. For example, a beautiful sunrise, the smell of rain, a beautiful flower, gorgeous mountains, the wonderful smell of a freshly cleaned home and or laundry. This is old fashioned but I do love the way my sheets used to smell when I brought them in off the clothesline.
I am also thankful for an ordinary morning of drinking my coffee while sitting on my porch swing listening to the birds sing. Peaceful times.
Cracking open a brand new Bible and journal and as a friend reminded me today, the smell of a new book. We are weird but a good weird. lol
I am also enjoying my Bible study in Jonah. Learning many new things.
Sunday dinner after church at a local Mexican restaurant with the family and friends. Fun times. Simple things to be thankful for and enjoying the ordinary days.
After a very long day of babysitting and cleaning the house and preparing for dinner, I am going to veg on the couch for a bit and then start dinner. Chicken, baked potato and fresh corn on the cob. Thank you God for your many blessings!
Y'all enjoy your Monday evening!!
