Craving Some Color

It's a cold, no it's artic cold tonight!! Oh my goodness, winter came in fast and while everyone around us got snow and ice our little area got nada, not a trace and I'm okay with that. :-)

Right now I am watching Extreme Makover, Home Addition where they rebuilt 7 homes. This episode has been heart wrenching!! This took place in Joplin.  The devastating F-5 tornado swept thru on a Sunday evening in May and killed so many people. Two mommas who were 2 of the 7 homes rebuilt each lost children. One momma had 2 of her children literally ripped from her arms when the tornado hit. The other tried to protect both her sons but the oldest dies when a utility pole fell on him.

I am so thankful that they have new homes to start over in and while it will not be the same with the death of thier loved ones, I am so happy for them and pray they never have to go thru that again in  their lives.

Even as I type this the show is in our area building a home for a family. It takes so many volunteers from each area to pull this off.  Their episode will air next Thanksgiving! I can't wait to watch it.

I have a weekend where we have nothing specific planned.  I love weekends like that.

Even if you dislike football, the NFL Playoffs are on Saturday night and the Broncos are playing the Patriots.  Of course the main attention will be on Tim Tebow.  The amount of people mad at him for praying amazes me. So many people are mimicking him by kneeling as he does when he is praying.

Tim takes it in stride. God is using him in this kind of arena that is speading the name of Jesus.  We as Christians should be praying for him.  Most people will be hoping that Tim, not the Broncos but Tim loses tomorrow night.  I don't know what God's will is but I do know that win or lose, Tim will give God all the glory and he will remain focused on God's plan for his life.

It's also Miss America weekend.  I don't know why but I do like to watch this show. :)  There have been some crazy talent comps over the last year!  Of course, I am pulling for Miss Tennessee.

Now back to talking seasons: I am ready for spring and summer. ;-)  I don't like this artic blast.  I need 60's and 70's and daffodils and tulips and green grass. Speaking of which, it has been such a mild winter so far that the buds are heavy on the trees.  My tulips are starting to sprout. No joke.

Each season has it's own blessings but I love color and can't wait to have it again.

Enjoy your weekend!!

  1. I did see some snow flurries while visiting my Mom and going to the doctor with her. But, nothing on consequence. But, it is cold. I can't believe it.

I'm looking forward to Spring/Summer too. That is a beautiful time of year.
