Our last weekend in April and Mother's Day is fast approaching.
Things are crazy right now for our family and I don't have time to write about it at this time but I wanted to pop in and tell you that I hope you had a great week and to tell you to slow down and enjoy your weekend. :)

So sad that Dick Clark has passed away. What a legacy he leaves us. We loved watching American Bandstand and of course Pyramid game show and ringing in countless New Years with him. Ringing in 2013 won't be the same. :(

A little fun....
Everyone needs a little fun in their day, week, month AND weekends!
I rarely watch the news and I am sorry that I did tonight....
This world is one big heap of a mess. I am glad that God put this in His Word: In 1 Timothy 6:17 it says that God richly provides everything for our enjoyment. With the state of this country , I am glad God also provides everything for us!
It's the weekend and time to recharge our batteries, so to speak, and I hope you find some enjoyment this weekend. It doesn't have to come in the big things, although it can, but it can also happen in the small things.
I love weekends and my only complaint would be they go by way to fast. ;)

Morning
Good morning! Time to rise and shine and start the day.
It's easier to start the day when it's Friday. :)
Almost the weekend. Yay!
It's a beautiful day where we live and it has been this way all week. So thankful for the sunshine and cool temps. This weekend it will feel like the heat of summer but I also welcome that. Bring it on, I think.;)
I think on this gorgeous Friday I will share a Simple Pleasure of mine. I read this quote on a blog that I read often and it was from Laura Ingalls. The jest of the quote was that Laura and her sister Mary had swept the cabin, washed the dishes and made their beds and afterwards settled in to read their favorite books but Laura kept looking up from reading her book at their clean house and enjoying the end results of cleaning that day. That makes me smile.
It's so true. It's nice to be able to work. Work is good, a blessing from God. Whether it be working inside your home or outside your home. A lot of people are choosing to work from home now instead of an office. Our homes are supposed to be our sanctuary's or our place of quiet retreat.
I like to have a clean home. I was raised that when doing anything, do it right the first time or we would have to do it over until we got it right. . That was from our grandmother.
Friday is my cleaning day unless we have something planned for that day. I like to have a clean home for the weekends. I usually plan out my menu for the weekend so we don't have to go to the store.
My Simple Pleasure today is Work. I should probably add rest to that too. ;) I do like a lazy day.
I would have no problem doing this all day or for a week. :))
This also brings to mind the many people who are without jobs and have been for some time. Trust me when I say, I know about this, all to well, but I am making a point today to pray for those who need jobs. Who need breakthroughs in their finances, who need their bills paid, groceries...etc...To anyone still hanging with me on this Friday morning..... Have a great weekend! Enjoy your day!

Back to Normal
As I posted on FB, I am back or gradually back to the land of the living after a nasty stomach bug. I may never want to eat again, except that I did this morning. ;) I was starving. Has to be a good sign. The lasting effects are a sore back and stomach. yuk.
Anyway, how are you? How was your Easter weekend?
I have to say that our Easter service was amazing! God worked and moved in powerful ways that only He can do. We had a powerful interp from our drama and choir, a great message and 9 people were baptized and one was saved after the service! Praise the Lord!
The weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed a cookout later that evening. I was going to cook a bigger meal but it was so pretty that I changed everything and decided to grill out. *grin*
Again, I like to picture us meeting together, or you coming over to my house for a visit and we catch up and usually "we" are sitting on my front porch with sweet tea. ;) This morning if you were here you would need a jacket and something hot to drink. We were in the 30's this morning. We had to turn the heat back on. Crazy weather.
There are some stirrings in my heart and spirit this morning. I don't think I am ready to share but I will later. Praying about it.
There is a lot going on but again, I will share later. But God.....
We all go through those times when only God can come thru for you. But God....
If you find yourself in that place, But God...it's the best place to be. Hold your head up, be encouraged today that God is working on your behalf and you will not be disappointed in Him, you will not be disappointed that you called on Him for help. He has NOT forgotten you! Don't give up!!

Fresh and New
Lets pretend that we get to meet at our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch to catch up. :)
How have you been? How is your week going? Are you excited for Easter weekend?
Our week is going good, new possibilities are surfacing this week, and we are preparing for Easter. I am praying and asking God how He wants me to lead the Sunday school class this week. We will have a limited time in class this week but I want God is meet us there and teach us new things.
I finally decided on our Easter meal. I don't usually go with the ham or turkey for Easter but this year I decided to make my chicken casserole. I am excited because I make my homemade cornbread dressing for the topping and we usually don't get to eat the cornbread dressing except at Thanksgiving. I'll make green beans and potatoes and yeast rolls and deviled eggs. Banana pudding for dessert. Nap to follow. lol What are you making for Easter dinner?
More importantly I look forward to our worship service. Several are getting baptized and this is the day to celebrate our Risen Savior!!
Now, don't laugh at us but we still like to color eggs. :)) Pictures to follow later this week. :)
If we were sitting across the table you would have noticed by now that I had my hair colored and cut today. I have had so many different styles over the years because I get bored with the same hairstyle year after year. I asked my hair wizard to cut it short. He looked at me and said, are you sure? I said, yes! He has cut my hair for 14 years. So, we went shorter and added some spike to it. I LOVE it!! I am at the age where I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair but I need it to look cute. Here is a picture from my phone. Not the best quality but you can get the gest of it.
I was a little nervous doing this before Easter but I went for my summer cut.
Our lunch meeting has come to an end but I will be back this weekend.
Praying that God will manifest His resurecction power in each of our lives or in our situations where we each need to see a move of God this week! Let me know when God moves for you.
